EXI(S)T#7: FROM ANOTHER TIME

“From Another Time” presents works by eight Jakarta-based artists in response, investigation, and exploration to the theme “alternative history”. The urgency to create works of art that intersect with the past stems as an attempt to influence or disrupt an increasingly polarized society in the past few years. Along with the thoughts and ideas of young creative practitioners, we are invited to revisit a shared, inherited history. After all, though one individual is responsible for his own history, a group of individuals have greater power to regulate it.
